Ideas for mini projects for electrical engineering student

We know that in our engineering life electrical projects are used in many ways,and these projects require more power than the electronic projects. These projects’ circuits use only passive components such as resistors, capacitors and inductors, etc. As a result, many people would like to get an idea about the working of these electrical projects and they are often unaware of the projects that come under this category.

1. Intelligent Auto Controlling of Train Security System:-

Automatic Railway Safety System can sense the presence of fire and smoke and generate a series of alarm driven events after it. When the fire is detected it turns on a motor which is depicted in the project as breaking system or chain pulling mechanism. 

2.Motor Speed Control and Monitoring System Based on Frequency Locked Loop:-

The purpose of this project is to control and maintain constant speed of a DC Motor even at variable loads. This involves a microcontroller based control system with an input reference frequency and a feed back frequency (speed equivalent) from DC motor optical encoder.

An Earth fault relay will kick out when sensing a ground fault, or a passage of electricity between a phase and ground. A dynamic model relay will trip when a current exceeds a set limit within a phase conductor, or multiple phases in the case of a substation.

5.Remote Control and Monitoring of Digital Energy Meter by Using GSM Technology:-

This can be achieved by the use of Microcontroller unit that continuously monitors and records the Energy Meter readings in its permanent (non-volatile) memory location. This system also makes use of a GSM modem for remote monitoring and control of Energy Meter.
